A cold Monday with snow and sawdust

2017, day 9, Monday again, and while on the other side of the world Meryl Streep, last night, held a magnificent speech for a room full of actors, actresses and other movie people, the Dutchman Paul Verhoeven won a Golden Globe in the category "Foreign Film", in the world of the arts there are also boxes (which they call categories) in which you must fit, a Dutch newspaper calls on, in the same words, as they did before the second world war with the slogan "A Jewish Plague, our people must be free of the Jewish intruders", that the "plague" of asylum seekers continues unhindered and must be stopped. Sometimes it is not even about the content, since the item was not about asylum seekers, but the historical context and a little journalistic independence and integrity, qualities that are hardly to be found in the world of paper news. Meanwhile in New York, the British Minister of Foreign Affairs, Boris Johnson, drinks a beer, with one of the advisers of Donald Trump, well, with Trumps ' son Jared Kushner, because the Presidency of the US, has become a commercial family business and both gentlemen like sharing their thoughts and efforts on how to screw up the simple folk. While the Italian “five star” movement of the Populist Beppe Grillo, swaps the Euro-septic group, with members like UKIP,  in the European Parliament for the pro-EU Liberal Democrats and instead of working towards a "Italexit" choose to be friends with other populists like the Dutch parliamentarian Pechthold, refugees are freezing in a, changed into a snow cave, detention-tent camp at Moria on the Greek island of Lesbos and the beheading and other gruesome killings in the prisons in the country of the World Championships football and the Olympics are described by the coup-leader and current Prime Minister as little incidents which are outside his remit, these prisons are just commercial companies and the "market" should solve the problems itself, like for example, they do so great in the Dutch health care system, where the percentage of dead victims is an excepted and a built-in side-effect. Meanwhile, here in Portugal a self-designed and built Ukelele stands in the corner, there are some Dutch lyrics on paper and is there’s a tune in my head ... now I got to get that stiffness out of my fingers and that frog from my throat, to see if I can try to be “boxless” creative on this Monday .... Maybe it will be just creating sawdust again, as I should.
